Faculty Fellowship: Summer Institute for Israel Studies - Apply by January 17, 2023

Summer Institute for Israel Studies 2023
June 28 - July 9 at Brandeis University and July 10 - 19 in Israel

The Schusterman Center for Israel Studies at Brandeis University invites applications for its Summer Institute for Israel Studies (SIIS) Faculty Fellowship, open to faculty in all disciplines with an interest in Israel Studies. The fellowship provides travel, accommodations and meals,m as well as a stipend of up to $2,500.

Thanks to a generous donor, we can offer special consideration to candidates who grew up in the Middle East or North Africa and who are living and working in Abraham Accord countries (United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, or Sudan).

The program begins with a residency at Brandeis University (June 28-July 9), where participants study with world-class faculty from a broad range of Israel Studies disciplines. During this time, they develop a syllabus for a course, or course segment, that they will return to teach at their home institution. The group then travels to Israel for an immersive 10-day study tour (July 10-19) that includes site visits, encounters with cultural informants, as well as discussions with Israeli academicians, Jewish and Arab policy makers, political figures, thought leaders, entrepreneurs and social advocates.
