H-Diplo Annual Publication Moratorium

Dear H-Diplo readers,

In keeping with its standard practice, H-Diplo will implement a moratorium on our in-house publications from 10 August to 07 September. We anticipate a lively 2020/21 series of publications, including our “Learning the Scholar’s Craft” essays; our roundtable, book, and article reviews; and a second series of “American and the World” Essays in which the authors who wrote essays on the Trump administration in 2017 will be asked to reflect on their essays and offer new assessments.

This is an ideal time to catch up on past H-Diplo and H-Diplo/ISSF publications, which are available on the webpage at https://networks.h-net.org/h-diplo.

H-Diplo will continue to function during this period, with regular daily postings that include Seth Offenbach’s H-Diplo/H-Net reviews that normally appear on the weekends. The review editors will also continue their commissioning and editing work as well.

The H-Diplo editors are well aware of the effects of the COVID-19-related lockdowns and social-isolation measures, the move to online teaching, and the demands of home schooling on the schedules of academics, women scholars in particular. Please note that we are working hard to ensure that we maintain diversity and gender parity in our reviews programme, both in terms of the works that we assign for review and the scholars whom we recruit as reviewers. We have adopted flexible submission deadlines for those who need them given that their writing time has been severely reduced or entirely eliminated. Please do reach out to the editors should you encounter any difficulties in meeting submission dates.

With best regards,

Diane Labrosse, H-Diplo managing editor
