The Department of State's Advisory Committee on Historical Diplomatic Documentation will hold a public meeting on September 12, 2022. Attendees are welcome to attend virtually or in person. The meeting will feature a presentation at 10:00 AM by Chris Tudda of the Office of the Historian on Foreign Relations of the United States, 1977-1980, vol. XXVI, Arms Control and Nonproliferation, which was ​published in 2015. The volume focuses on the Carter administration’s arms control initiatives, including chemical and biological weapons, comprehensive nuclear test ban deliberations, anti-satellite weapons, conventional arms talks and reductions, and nuclear nonproliferation, during the final years of the détente era. This presentation will be of keen interest to historians of U.S. foreign relations, international historians, their students, and many others.
