    Looking For District Data? Scout It

    As part its digital transformation, DC’s Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs’ (DCRA) created Scout, a new online resource that allows users to find and track permits, licenses, inspections, enforcement actions, and regulatory information across the District all in one place. Think of it as one-stop-shopping for all the data you need. Users may search using a street address, business name, person’s name, permit, or license number.

    Why the change? Until now, residents, businesses and government agencies had to use four different data systems to access information about properties and businesses in the District, which often created confusion. The new online application streamlines property and business data from the Property Information Verification System (PIVS) and three others (Q-tracker, BBLV and OBPAT) into one – improving the way you access essential District information.

    Join AIA|DC and DCRA for an overview of the pilot version of Scout. DCRA encourages you to give it a try, and send feedback so they can make the application better and better.

    At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

    • Summarize how the new online resource has changed finding permit, license, inspection, and enforcement actions;

    • Identify the various different ways and features to now search for this information on the online portal;

    • Identify which systems and which types of information are now online, as well as those which are not; and

    • Provide feedback on how well the pilot program works and identify any changes they would like to see made.
