The 2020 DC Community Heritage Partnership Grant (DCCHP) deadline is May 15, 2020. Grants up to $5,000 will be awarded for projects completed between June 30, 2020 and October 30, 2020.
Launched in 2005 by HumanitiesDC and the DC Historic Preservation Office, DCCHP provides an alternative to the “top-down” approach to community history that is often defined by developers and non-residents. DCCHP has funded more than 200 diverse, local heritage projects, preserving the memories of long-time Washingtonians and capturing the unfolding stories of new residents for future generations.
Since 2007, these small grants have afforded communities, neighborhood organizations, churches, and others the chance to tell their stories through public humanities projects such as: written publications, documentary films, websites, lesson plans, tours, and many more.
These small projects are showcased annually and archived in the HumanitiesDC DC Digital Museum.
Additional information on the grant program is posted on the Humanities DC website.
Other Humanities grant programs with grant application deadlines from March through July will also take place this year. They include Soul of the City Partnership Grant, Humanities Vision Partnership Grant, DC Documentary Short Film Partnership Grant, Humanitini Curator Grant and Youth Media Literacy Partnership Grant. More information regarding these programs are also posted on the Humanities DC website.
