Matthew Gilmore Discussion

If you know a DC high school student, recent graduate or out of school youth who might be interested in a career (or civic project) involving history, museums, preservation, cultural programming, documentaries, etc. please share this opportunity. As the attached flyer indicates, The Charles Sumner Museum and Archives is hosting a Public Humanities Career Workshop on Wednesday, June 19, 4:30 - 8:30 PM. We are closing the sign up list this coming weekend.
The workshop is part of a Humanities DC supported initiative to document the history of the Eastern HS Choir. In the first part of the evening, the students will participate in an interactive workshop over dinner with role model humanities professionals who work at major museums, produce cutting edge social justice research and produce historical films, just to name a few examples. In the second half of the evening, the students will join a case study presentation about documenting the Eastern HS Choir legacy through a research collection and documentary.
Sign up details are on the flyer: https://twitter.com/SumnerMuseum/status/1139171367776116739 . Feel free to share with colleagues!
