We Dig DC Bottle Archeology
Learn about the DC Office of Planning's excavation of the Capital Hill Shotgun House from members of the project team during Message in a Bottle on June 14 from 6-8pm. Their archaeological dig uncovered beer bottles dating back to the 1850s and sheds new light on the German immigrant community in Washington, DC. We will also present a special mini-exhibit from our collection of historic beer bottles, including a recent archaeological find never before seen by the public. FREE.
