Call for Papers, Renaissance Society of America Conference, San Juan, Puerto Rico, March 9-11, 2023
The Renaissance Society of America (RSA) is has announced that it will accept proposals for individual presentation proposals and complete panels for its 2023 annual conference, to be held March 9-11, 2023 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Journal of Jesuit Studies regularly organizes up to five panels at this conference. We are looking to organize panels in any aspect of Jesuit studies in any region, up to the year 1700. (Please note: Organization by the JJS does not guarantee acceptance to the program.)
Please submit abstracts on topics related to Jesuits (anywhere in the world) on the subjects of: history, literary studies, art history, music history, or related topics, of no more than 150 words, along with a short list of keywords, and a BRIEF CV (no more than 300 words, including affiliation, rank and one or two important publications or other evidence of scholarship) to Kathleen Comerford, firstname.lastname@example.org, no later than July 15, 2022. We will consider panels, individual papers, and roundtables.
Note these guidelines, from the RSA: “A good abstract will state the topic and argument and will inform specialists in the field of what is new about the research. Generalities known to everyone, or research that a scholar intends to do but has not yet begun, are not appropriate. Relevant information, e.g., the presentation of a newly discovered manuscript or work of art, should be included.”
