New Horizons in Jewish Studies Graduate Essay Prize,

The Center for Jewish Studies at the University of California, Irvine invites submissions for its annual New Horizons in Jewish Studies Graduate Essay Prize. Advanced graduate students at universities in North America and those with a Ph.D. awarded no earlier then 2020 are eligible. In order to participate, submit an unpublished essay on any topic related to Jewish Studies. The winner will receive a $1,000 award and will be invited to present a public lecture on the topic of their essay at UC Irvine in the spring quarter of 2022, with a local respondent from the student’s field of studies. The program will cover travel expenses and hotel accommodation, assuming that public health conditions at the time allow for travel and in-person programming; otherwise, the event will be held online. Essays should be in English and 5,000-8,000 words long. Please submit your essay and a recent CV as a Word or PDF document to JewishStudies@uci.edu no later than February 20, 2022.
