DISCUSSION: The "killing Jews" ad on buses and subways in New York City

Yo (Yocheved) Menashe Discussion

The ad reads: "Killing Jews is Worship that draws us close to Allah" and it's scheduled to be posted on buses and subways in New York City. District Judge John Koeltl ruled that the Transportation Authority cannot stop the ad, which is sponsored by the American Freedom Defense Initiative.

I assume that people here know (although I had to do some searching myself) that the "American Freedom Defense Initiative" is an aka of "Stop Islamization of America (SIOA)"--Pam Geller et al. The Southern Poverty Law Center lists it as a hate group.

No, I didn't know anything until the post here. Thanks for doing the research, Hank. I'm in NYC and haven't heard anything about it. I would think it would be on the front page of the NY Times if it was about to happen.

I have seen a number of postings accusing Pamela Geller of sponsoring a hate group. I have written to her asking if she now views all Muslims as terrorists, for until recently, she used the term jihadist (or "savages") to separate moderate Muslims from extremists.

There was a similar flap over subway signs several years ago, and I complained about a Fox anchor evading the issue by invoking political correctness here: http://clarespark.com/2012/09/25/thought-police-on-fox/.

Should it turn out that Geller now believes that all Muslims support jihad and warfare, I will inform the group. Until then, I assume that it is multiculturalism that is being defended on H-Antisemitism. I have written extensively about the subtle racism that is inseparable from multiculturalism, and would add that Herder, its reactionary German Romantic originator, was no fan of the Jews. Here is the evidence (look at the excerpts from Herder's writings): http://clarespark.com/2010/10/18/the-dialectic-of-multiculturalism-helv….
