Corresponding with the World Cup, the current epsiode of the podcast New Books in Sports features two scholars of Latin American history discussing their respective books on football in the region.  Roger Kittleson discusses his new history of Brazilian soccer, The Country of Football, published this year by University of California Press as part of its series "Sport in World History." Joining him is Joshua Nadel, author of Fútbol! Why Soccer Matters in Latin America (University Press of Florida, 2014), which looks at the game's connection to politics, economics, and culture in various countries of the region.
