The Papers of Andrew Jackson is pleased to announce that the fourth and final webinar of our 2020-2021 series is scheduled for Wednesday, April 21, 4-5pm (eastern). Dr. Alaina E. Dr. Alaina E. Roberts is an Assistant Professor of History at the University of Pittsburgh. Her first book, I’ve Been Here All the While: Black Freedom on Native Land (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2021), uses archival research and family history to upend the traditional narrative of Reconstruction, connecting debates about Black freedom and Native American citizenship to westward expansion onto Native land. Her writing has also appeared in the Washington Post, the Journal of the Civil War Era, and the Western Historical Quarterly.
