Hello all,
I am writing to invite you to a virtual event (sponsored by the Departments of Africana Studies and History at Brown University) featuring Peniel Joseph. Dr. Joseph is the Associate Dean for Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion; Professor of Public Affairs; Barbara Jordan Chair in Ethics and Political Values; and Founding Director of the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy at UT Austin. The two of us are discussing his new book, The Third Reconstruction: America's Struggle for Racial Justice in the Twenty-First Century (Basic Books, 2022) on February 1, 2023 at 3pm ET. The event is free and open to all. However, registration is required (link included below). Please join us if you can! It's a great way to kick-off Black History Month.
Sincerely,
Keisha N. Blain, Ph.D.
Professor of Africana Studies & History
Brown University
