The editors of H-Labor-Arts are pleased to announce a new collaboration with The Grohmann Museum on the campus of the Milwaukee School of Engineering in Wisconsin. The Grohmann is home to one of the world's largest collections of artwork dedicated to depicting the evolution of human work and is in apt partner for H-Labor-Arts. In the new feature, "From the Grohmann..." Grohmann staff and MSOE faculty will share materials from their collections and archives and their own scholarship with H-Labor-Arts readers. We wish to especially thank Dr. Patrick Jung, MSOE Professor of History, for heading up this exciting endeavor.
Our first piece From the Grohmann, "The Scope of Early Twentieth-Century German Industrial Art: Works in the Grohmann Museum of Art," is co-authored by Patrick Jung and James R. Kieselburg, Executive Director of The Grohmann. The essay provides a succint overview of German industrial art highlighting the most recent research on the subject and includes several stunning works of art from the Grohmann collection.
