We are happy to announce that H-Business is back online!
We thought that we would share a bit about ourselves, let you know of our planned posting schedule, and give our vision for the network.
PJ Neal is the new Editor-in-Chief. PJ oversees research and publications for a large professional services firm, and was previously employed at Harvard Business Publishing, the parent company of Harvard Business Review. As EIC, PJ will moderate regular submissions from network members and aggregate content from the major scholarly societies in business and economic history. He hopes to make the H-Business network a centralized clearinghouse of information that can drive traffic to other societies, networks, and content.
Ashton Merck is the new Associate Editor. Ashton is a recent PhD from Duke University, and she has been involved with the Business History Conference for the last few years. In her role as Associate Editor, Ashton hopes to make H-Business a more meaningful platform for scholars who want to stay informed on new developments in the field of business history. She is especially interested in highlighting the work of early career scholars, as well as recent scholarship that pushes the field in promising new directions.
Starting next week, H-Business digetst will hit your inbox on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. (If you receive individual notifications for each post, you may receive them a day earlier, on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.)
- Mondays will feature the usual fare of network announcements, calls for papers, jobs, and other opportunities submitted to the network.
- Wednesdays will include member-submitted announcements or messages related to output of network members (publications, podcasts, etc.)
- On Fridays, the Associate Editor will compile a "weekly wrap” of interesting business history content from around the web, including a rundown of happenings on #bizhis Twitter. In the future, these posts will include original content created for H-Business.
We apologize for the longer-than-expected hiatus this summer, but we're excited to get started. Please continue to submit your posts, and feel free to write with questions or suggestions for the network.
