Join the Alice Paul Institute for Forward Together, Backward Never! The History and Future of the Equal Rights Amendment symposium on Friday, March 24, 2023 at the New Jersey Law Center at Rutgers - New Brunswick.
Featuring panel discussions with historians, state legislators, attorneys, and advocates, the symposium will explore the history of the Equal Rights Amendment, the way NJ’s constitution and legislature is impacted by the state’s ERA provision, the current state of advocacy for equal rights amendments, and how NJ’s ERA impacts the practice of law in the state.
Presented in Partnership with the New Jersey State Bar Association and generously supported by the New Jersey Historical Commission. The Alice Paul Institute received an
operating support grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission, a division of the Department of State.

2 Symposium Panels “From Seneca Falls to Congressional Halls” and “Ordinary Equality in the Practice of Law” have together been approved for CLE credits as follows:
- NJ CLE: 3.0 general credits (50 minute hour)
- NY CLE (Transitional & Non-transitional): 3.0 professional practice credits
- PA CLE: 2.5 substantive credits pending ($12 fee – separate check payable to NJICLE must be submitted at the end of the program)
