XVI MEETING OF INTERNATIONAL HISTORIANS OF MEXICO: CALL FOR PAPERS EXTENDED

To allow colleagues some additional time to formulate their paper and panel proposals, the Call for Papers for the XVI Meeting of International Historians of Mexico has been extended, from October 31, 2021, until January 7, 2022.

Proposal forms are available at: https://xvireunion.utexas.edu/convocatoria/

In the week of January 24-28, 2022, notification of acceptance or otherwise, as well as details concerning the availability of travel grants for graduate students, will be given.

We also would like to reiterate that although the event’s global theme is “Federalisms in the History of Mexico and Mexican Texas,” it is NOT necessary for all panels and papers to be organized around this theme. On the contrary, and as always, the committee welcomes panel and paper proposals on a wide range of topics that engage with current debates in Mexican history. Conference tracks may include: Cultural history, Intellectuals, Art, Gender, Sexuality, Representations, Institutions, Religions, Communications, Migration, Agriculture, Ecology, Violence, Borders, Ethnicity, Race, Identities, Politics, Economy, Trade, Languages, Empires, Nations, Mexican Texas.

Sincerely
Organizing committee
