Social Networks and Social Diseases in French, German, and Spanish Contexts post-1900

Social Networks, Social Diseases : This panel invites contributions that explore literary texts, cultural objects, films and other forms of material culture originally written or produced in Spanish, German, or French since 1900. Comparative contributions are also encouraged.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
Language, gender and/or performance in the virtual world.
Representations of virtual and in-person friendships/relationships.
Digital consumer culture and its effects on the traditional marketplace and on society more generally.
Writing and artistic practices while social distancing.
Literary and artistic networks and their function as catalysts for intellectual production.
Networks (social, media, information) and their ability to engage with, shape or transform the development of 20th and 21st century literature and culture.
Papers presented as a part of this panel will receive special consideration for publication in the online, open-access, peer-reviewed journal Studies in 20th & 21st Century Literature (STTCL--https://newprairiepress.org/sttcl/).
