Hello All,
I am in the process of securing images in Mexico for a publication. The turn-around time between acceptance and printing is pretty tight and I'm not able to go there to secure them myself. Luckily I was able to hire a Mexican resesarch assistant. The AGN was pretty easy to manage. The Hemeroteca Nacional made the publication-quality images but informed us that we must secure the image permissions from the newspapers themselves. I have sent formal letters off to El Universal and El Informador, but could not find any info about who to ask at Excélsior. My assistant both called and went in person to the Excélsior office, but no one working there knew the answer and he got the impression that they don't regularly deal with granting images for academic use. Has anyone dealt with this issue recently? Do you have a name or email that my formal letter should be directed to?
Thanks so much in advance for your help--I'll be blogging about this experience on Research Corner and will be sure to include any advice I get here.
