Boston Seminar on the History of Women and Gender, 2014-2015

The first session of the Boston Seminar on the History of Women and Gender will take place on Thursday, October 2, when Barbara Krauthamer, University of Massachusetts—Amherst, will present on enslaved women and the politics of liberation in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Subsequent sessions will consider Frances Watkins Harper, Anna Dickinson, and Frederick Douglass; sumptuary laws in 1890s Chicago; and Mildred Jefferson and the 1976 Right to Life movement.
