Homicide in Los Angeles County, 1830-1874.  After extensive research into legal records, newspapers, archival collections, and other historical materials, I have compiled a list of 468 homicides in the Los Angeles vicinity (Los Angeles County after 1851) from 1830 through 1874, all of them fully sourced and cited.  The data, along with an explanatory headnote assessing its comprehensiveness, is available for download at the Historical Violence Database of the Criminal Justice Research Center at the Ohio State University.
