AFRICAN  AMERICAN  HISTORY. The Department of History at The University of Memphis invites applications for a non-tenure track Instructor position in African American History, starting in Fall 2021. This is a one-year position that may be renewed for two additional years, contingent on satisfactory performance. Ph.D. in History required by the time of appointment. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a 4-4 load that includes survey courses in African American and U.S. history as well as upper-division undergraduate and graduate courses in those fields, both in-class and online formats. The Department of History is committed to increasing the diversity of its faculty, and we therefore welcome applicants from historically underrepresented groups.
