The Frances S. Summersell Center for the Study of the South at the University of Alabama is proud to announce it is receiving nominees for the 2018 Deep South Book Prize. The prize is awarded biennially for the best book on the history or culture of the Deep South, and the author of the prizewinner will receive a cash award of $500.

Books nominated for the nest awarded prize must have been published between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2017. Three copies of each nominated book should be mailed by March 1, 2018 to:
