This work has served as the major primary source for women's suffrage in the U.S. with a clear preference for certain groups and individuals. Black women's suffrage work and rivals to the wing of the movement led by Stanton and Anthony are either left out altogether or mentioned ony briefly. The books were published by Susan B. Anthony who donated many copies to libraries and potential supporters.
