Title: Through the Eyes of Pioneers: Accounts of the Women’s Suffrage Movement in Dayton, Ohio (1890-1920).
Publisher: Master's thesis [CORE Scholar repository], Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio, 2015.
This essay is a Master of Humanities Capstone Project for Wright State University. The author focuses on seven women in Dayton, Ohio: Hallie Q. Brown, Katharine Kennedy Brown, Martha McClellan Brown, Charlotte Reeve Conover, Jesse Leech Davisson, Louise Achey Kennedy and Katharine Wright (Haskell). One was African-American; and three others were related or connected to each other through marriage. Schwickart's hypothesis is that their work in the women’s suffrage movement elevated their role and status in their local society.
