A Suffrage Song sung to the tune of "America" (or the tune of "God Save the Queen" depending on where you're from) by two women in New Zealand - home of the first ever national law for full enfranchisement for women (1893). Joydah Bernardo and Rudo Greissworth recorded the song using the words from this image of a flyer from the early 20th century that can be found in the archives at Western Kentucky University.
The recording was then used during the "Bluegrass Bios" show on Lexington Public Radio (WLXU 93.9 FM) on March 24, 2017. Dr. Karen Cotton McDaniel (Frankfort) and Dr. Randolph Hollingsworth (Lexington) were interviewed by Chuck Clenney about the Kentucky Woman Suffrage Project.
