Turning Point Suffragist Memorial Association
The Turning Point Suffragist Memorial Association is a volunteer-led, non-profit organization in Virginia that is working to educate future generations about suffragists who fought for American women's right to vote. They partnered with NOVA Parks (formerly Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority) to raise funds and create a memorial that will be located near where women were imprisoned at the storied Occoquan Workhouse in southern Fairfax County, Virginia. The memorial fundraising is accompanied by educational outreach, including a Speakers Bureau, an online series "Suffragist of the Month," and serves as a site for the National Archives' new "Constitution Trail" - it will be labeled as the "site at which women come into the Constitution."
