The History Department of the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor in Early Modern/Modern Chinese History beginning September 1, 2016. Applicants should have an active research agenda, evidence of excellence in teaching, and a Ph.D. in History or a closely related field in hand by August 31, 2016.

The candidate’s field of study within Early Modern/Modern Chinese History is open. We are interested in candidates whose work includes the 20th century but covers multiple centuries.

We would also be interested in hearing from applicants able to teach graduate courses in their areas of specialization in our online MA program.
