Talk: “University Press Publishing for Aspiring Authors

Christine Dunbar, Asian Humanities and Literary Translations editor at Columbia University Press, will introduce the life cycle of a university press book, from the initial inquiry to publication and beyond. Topics to be covered include how and when to approach an editor; the pros and cons of an advance contract; when is the right time to start thinking about permissions and why is it now; and how to work with a publicist. There will be ample time for questions.
