The Alliance for Global Education, LLC, a division of the Institute for Study Abroad, Butler University, provides stimulating, interdisciplinary study abroad programs that maintain high academic standards, strong student services, and careful health and safety measures. Our core mission is to develop and promote innovative programs in vibrant, dynamic countries that are of ever-increasing scholarly, political, and economic interest. For the summer of 2015 term, The Alliance has partnered with American Councils for International Education to run the Department of State - Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs’ Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) programs in three locations across China.
The Institute Director for the Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program is responsible for the management and development of the Alliance’s CLS China program in Xi’an. Primary responsibilities include serving as the liaison between the host university, CLS Director, and Alliance U.S. staff, and overseeing the development and implementation of orientation, housing, activities, and excursions associated with the program. The Institute Director is also responsible for managing the office and its operating budget. The Institute Director works closely with the CLS Director, the Senior Program Officer in D.C., and other China staff on all aspects of CLS China program development management as needed. This temporary consultant position includes a 5 month contract. Benefits are not included.
