Covid 19’s impact globally is unprecedented and devastating. National, state and community responses are thinning. This issue; a collaborative work of The Chinky Homo Project and Matai Project, and supported by Orfalea Center for Global & International Studies, University of California, Santa Barbara, US explores the impact of Covid 19 in Northeast India through queer feminist lens.
Northeast India is touted as an important gateway to South East Asia and is riddled with long endured armed conflict, border crisis, drug mafia, ethnic conflict, human rights violations, struggles for self-determinism and independence, developmental, economic and environmental crisis. The region’s contemporary conflicts are indeed rooted in its geo-politics. And Covid 19 has intensified existing problems. This issue COVID 19 IN NORTHEAST INDIA aims to create a Covid 19 archive of the region through queer feminist perspectives.
