The School of Chinese seeks a scholar of high calibre to fill the tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor in Chinese Literature, to commence on September 1, 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.  An appointee with demonstrated performance will be considered for tenure towards the end of the second three-year contract.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chinese literature or related areas, and be actively engaged in research and publication. Preference will be given to those who specialize in classical Chinese literature and have particular expertise in pre-Tang canonical texts, classical Chinese literary criticism, shi poetry as well as ci poetry.
