The Department of History at Boston College invites applications for a post-doctoral teaching fellowship, beginning September 2015. Appointments are renewable pending successful annual reviews for a maximum of three years. Fellows will typically teach a year-long Core course, including lectures and discussion sections, focusing on Early Modern and Modern history from a global perspective and covering the period c. 1500 to the present. These courses contribute to the History Core Program through which all undergraduates develop a foundational knowledge of modern history and the ability to interpret and use primary sources. Fellows will also be expected to carry out their own research and to contribute to the intellectual life of the department. Salary is $66,500 with a $5,000 research budget. Ph.D. required by August 2015.
