Part-time Lecturer in Korean

The Department of Modern Languages and Cultures (MLC) invites applications for a part-time appointment for a Lecturer in Korean language. This is a one year, potentially renewable appointment, to begin Fall 2015. Requirements: M.A., native or near-native proficiency in Korean, training in Second Language Teaching and Learning, experience teaching at the US university level, and demonstrated ability to develop innovative second language curriculum. Ph.D degree would be beneficial.
Responsibilities: Candidate will teach two courses in the first year, primarily elementary. Additional courses may be added in the following years, according to student enrollment. The successful candidate will be expected to develop coherently articulated program of instruction in Korean: design, preparation, and implementation of the syllabi; assisting the department in extra-curricular activities for students (e.g. directing conversation groups).
