Dissertation Planning Grants for Sri Lanka

John Rogers Discussion

The American Institute for Sri Lankan Studies (AISLS) announces the continuation of its annual competition for dissertation planning grants.  Applicants must be graduate students enrolled at a US university.  AISLS dissertation planning grants enable graduate students in the humanities and social sciences who intend to do dissertation research in Sri Lanka to make a six to eight week pre-dissertation visit to investigate the feasibility of their topic, to sharpen their research design, or to make other practical arrangements for future research.  The grant is especially intended for students who are in the process of completing their dissertation proposals and preparing applications for funds to support their dissertation research, but other purposes may be proposed.  The program is funded in part by a grant from the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the US State Department.

The application deadline is December 1, 2019.  For complete details and application materials please go to www.aisls.org
