A three-year doctoral studentship is available for candidates who wish to explore the history of the consumption and control of substances labelled as narcotics and intoxicants in the Philippines in the twentieth century. It is one of four studentships included in the ‘The Asian Cocaine Crisis: Pharmaceuticals, consumers and control in Asia, c. 1900-1945’ project funded by the Wellcome Trust with Professor James Mills of The Centre for the Social History of Health and Healthcare (CSHHH) Glasgow at the University of Strathclyde as Principal Investigator.
