The Lau China Institute at King’s seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Chinese Society, to provide teaching and undertake externally-funded research of outstanding quality. The role will be focussed on the many implications of social development and change in China. It would particularly suit a candidate with a strong track record of research and publication on societal dynamics in China, the impact of economic change, and the socio-political changes that China has undergone in recent years and is currently experiencing. Also expected are a good understanding of provincial and central dynamics, and of the ways in which Chinese themselves understand their social evolution within the country.
