Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Chinese

The Asian Studies Program at Randolph-Macon College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Chinese, to begin in the Fall semester of 2017. Teaching duties include a 3-1-3 teaching load, comprised of four language instruction courses, and three courses in a secondary area (literature, culture, film, society, gender, etc.) in the candidate’s area(s) of teaching expertise.  The successful applicant will have 1) a Ph.D. either in hand or very near completion; 2) native or near-native proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese; 3) a passion for teaching at the undergraduate level, and 4) the promise of a strong scholarly agenda.  Interest and willingness to participate in January-term travel courses by the second or third year of appointment is also desirable.
