CFP for Roundtable AAS Seattle 2024
Dear Colleagues:
I am looking to create/organize a roundtable panel for the 2024 Association of Asian Studies Annual Conference to be held in Seattle, Washington, Thursday, March 14 to Sunday, March 17. The deadline for proposal submission is August 3, 2023.
There are three broad themes that interest me:
- The nature of Asian capitalism and the informal sector.
- Ethnicity, globalization, and business networks in Asia.
- The future of handloom weaving in contemporary capitalism in Asia.
I prefer the roundtable to be comparative, pan-Asian but as an India scholar I also welcome a South Asia regional panel. Young and early-career scholars from the social sciences and history are particularly welcomed. If interested, please contact me with the subject header AAS 2024 at promothesdcosta@gmail.com with a 250-word abstract and a brief paragraph on your scholarly interests.
Best wishes. Anthony
