Lecturer in Chinese Cultural Studies

Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Chinese Cultural Studies (teaching and research), which is tenable from 1 September 2022.

You must have a PhD in a relevant field and demonstrable teaching experience in Chinese studies at university level. Your research may focus on any aspect or period of Chinese culture, but the position is not open to those working in the field of linguistics. Preference may be given to candidates specialising in Chinese literature and/or art. Only applicants with high quality publications will be considered. You must be fluent in English and Mandarin. The following would be highly desirable: record of grant capture and PhD supervision, experience of assessing translation at undergraduate level, and experience developing online teaching materials. You must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to empathise with students.
