Dear Colleague,

Introducing BERGHAHN OPEN ANTHRO, a subscribe-to-open (S2O) model being piloted by Berghahn in partnership with Libraria and Knowledge Unlatched to move its core anthropology journal titles (the Berghahn Open Anthro package) to open access for 2020. This model was developed in part through a 2019 ground-breaking collaborative meeting between publishers, libraries, funders, and OA experts that was held at MIT this spring.

As a scholar-led publisher whose mission is to advance scholarship and disseminate knowledge, Berghahn is supportive of open access aims and respectful of open access policies. Subscribe-to-open seeks to take what is working well in the current system and applies it to achieving a sustainable and potentially universal model of open access across publications and publishers of all sizes.

Please see the FAQs for more information on BOA-S2O.

We would appreciate your support for this initiative, which will be transformational for the anthropology discipline if more journals follow suit. Please support the BOA-S2O initiative by contacting your libraries directly to let them know about the pilot or by filling out this recommendation form.
