Next week, Mutual Images Research Association and the University of Salford's Digital Curation Lab are co-hosting an online workshop entitled "Medievalism in East Asia: From Printed Storyworlds to Digital Role-Playing Games".
The workshop aims to explore the reception, interpretations and refashionings of the European Middle Ages across all genres and media in East Asia, from early to most contemporary creations, from printed story-worlds to digital role-playing games. Speakers will consider the cultural, ideological, or theoretical implications of such recreations of the European Middle Ages.
The workshop will run on the afternoons of 2 & 3 December, beginning on Thursday 2 December at 13:00 GMT (22:00 JST).
This workshop is the first of what is planned as an ongoing series.
The workshop is free to attend and you can register through Eventbrite here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/mira-9th-workshop-medievalism-in-east-asia-tickets-190654271057
