Richard Mammana Japanese Empire Postcard Collection

We have just posted 147 Japanese and European postcards about the Russo-Japanese War. The Japanese cards exhibit bold design elements and extol military heroism. The European cards illustrate popular opinion about international relations. Fears of the "Yellow Peril," and varied appraisals of Japan as the newest member of the imperialist club, are also prominent. Open-access resource for scholars and teachers.
