Artists-in-Dialogue: Confronting Disaster

Friday, April 15, 6:30 pm

Join in this groundbreaking conversation with two artists working on the cutting edge of the visual arts and environmental justice.

Munemasa Takahashi is the artist of Lost and Found, a monumental installation of personal snapshots recovered from the post-3/11 tsunami debris, featured in Japan Society Gallery's current exhibition, In the Wake: Japanese Photographers Respond to 3/11.

Brooklyn-based new media artist Hakan Topal, Ph.D. (Purchase College) has concentrated for over a decade on innovative approaches to art and design in the face of disaster, both natural and man-made.

Followed by an exclusive gallery tour and a reception with the artists.

Tickets $18/$15 Japan Society members, seniors & students (includes exhibition admission).
