ICAS Dissertation Awards 2023 - call for submissions

Discussion published by Anna Romanowicz on Monday, November 7, 2022

Dear Colleagues,

Since its inception in 2005, the ICAS Book Prize - Dissertations has grown to become one of the most prestigious awards in the field of Asian studies. The previous edition in 2021, received over 170 PhD dissertations from leading universities all over the world.

We encourage candidates from all countries whose dissertation is written in the English language, to submit their thesis in the current edition of IBP-Dissertations. The winner will receive a cash prize. More importantly, all distinguished participants of the IBP-Dissertations have reported that their awards were instrumental in advancing their academic careers, giving them international visibility and facilitating the publication of their dissertation, from some of the best publishing houses.

To be considered for the award, PhD dissertations must be in the field of Asian studies and the discipline of Humanities or Social Sciences (broadly defined). They should be dated between November 2020 and November 2022 and cannot have been submitted for consideration to a previous IBP. More information can be found here: https://icas.asia/ibp-2023-english-language-edition

The submission process is very simple. The interested party, that is –  an author or a promoter, may submit an electronic copy of the thesis online to the following website: https://icas.asia/user/register

The deadline for submission is 1st December 2022.
