The Journal of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era seeks a new book review editor or co-editors. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in History or related field and should specialize in Gilded Age and/or Progressive Era history and historiography.

JGAPE is very active in soliciting and publishing scholarly reviews, as well as reviews of films, museum exhibits, digital history projects, and teaching/pedagogical materials.  In addition, there are possibilities for review collaboration for content to be published via the Society for Historians of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era’s website (shgape.org) and in connection with H-SHGAPE, the Society’s online forum at H-NET.  This is an excellent opportunity to gain editorial experience and play a central role in the field.  The book review editor’s term of service is five years and may be renewed.

To apply for the position, please send a formal letter of interest and a CV to JGAPE Co-Editors Joe Genetin-Pilawa and Boyd Cothran at cgenetin@gmu.edu.

Applications are due by November 1, 2019.

Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent in any area of history or related fields, as determined by JGAPE.
