FROM THE EDITORS: Professor Getz's proposal below, that we conduct this discussion on H-World, seems like not only a productive intellectual excercise, but also a good way to initiate some of the features of the new H-World format. We encourage subscribers to post their responses on H-World. (We also encourage subscribers to fill out the basics of their profiles, in order to post on H-World in the first place.)

The numbers of personal accounts of revolutions runs into the tens of thousands - if not hundreds of thousands of books. For the simple reason that these are indeed earth-shaking events for the people involved in them and any personal account is therefore likely to find readers later on. The problem being that these tend to be in the local languages since they typically most interest local readers.
This is for a limited time only so hurry up and check it out. The graphic novel does a nice job with the early CIA and their role particularly.
