Please join British, Irish and Empire Studies at the University of Texas at Austin on Wednesday, April 5, at noon CDT, 6 p.m. BST, for "Race and Literature," the seventh session in BIES' virtual speaker series, "Books!" Janice Ho of the University of British Columbia Vancouver and Pallavi Rastogi of Louisiana State University will address this timely theme. Jennifer M. Wilks of UT-Austin's John L. Warfield Center of African and African American Studies and the Department of English will chair. Ho will explore "Racial Histories of the Welfare State in Postwar Black British Fiction," while Rastogi will examine "Genres of Covid: Fiction After March 2020."
