Pittsburgh 2023: ENERGIES
32nd Annual WHA Conference
June 22-24, 2023

In partnership with the University of Pittsburgh’s World History Center, the World History Association will be holding our 32nd Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where students, scholars, teachers, and activists from around the world will have the opportunity to present new and innovative research on the Meeting’s overarching theme, ENERGIES. Proposals may take the form of organized panels, individual papers, workshops, Meet the Author, and innovative sessions.

The World History Association is also featuring a 'Teaching & Learning Track' throughout the Pittsburgh Conference’s sessions. This track reflects the deep intertwining of teaching and research as twin sources of learning in World History, and our commitment to bringing teachers and researchers together to share their expertise with each other. The presentations in this track will hone in on how we can support teaching and learning inspecific topics in history, including ENERGIES. Just look for the session title, ‘Teaching & Learning Track: Energies in World History’ for a variety of workshops, roundtables, and panels specially geared towards world history educators. Do you have a great idea for a teaching session? There’s still time! Submit your proposal by January 20, 2023 at https://www.thewha.org/conferences/2023-energies/. Additionally, the Alliance for Learning in World History (ALWH) is accepting applications through January 10, 2023, to attend the conference free of charge with housing included.
