This year’s Literary and Visual Landscapes symposium will be held virtually on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th June 2021, on the theme of (Re)imagined Landscapes. Facilitating an interdisciplinary conversation through a wide range of interpretations on this important theme, the symposium will feature landscapes reimagined physically, abstractly, digitally and methodologically.
We are very excited to announce Professor Sally Bushell of Lancaster University as our keynote speaker for the event. Professor Bushell will present the paper ‘News Ways of Reading, Visualising and Experiencing Literary Landscapes in a Digital Age’. The keynote will be followed by four panels and a documentary film screening across the two days, which we hope will evoke valuable critical discussions between participants.
Registration for the event is now open on Eventbrite. The symposium is generously supported by the University of Bristol’s Centre for Environmental Humanities, and the full schedule and abstract information for each panellist has been listed on their website.
